My first car was a 1991 Pontiac Grand Am. The year was 1999 and I was 19. The memories are just rushing back now…I remember how happy and proud I was to be purchasing it all on my own. I remember the feeling I had when I was behind the wheel and I could go wherever I wanted. I remember getting lost a few times because I hadn’t paid enough attention while I was the passenger.
So maybe I was getting just about the worst interest rate around--not that big of a deal that I had to make payments every two weeks--I was the only one responsible and I would make the payments on time and do all the required maintenance and do everything else right…..and then it broke down. What a crappy car that was!
Only a year had passed and this thing was stopping in the middle of intersections and leaving me stranded in random places. It sucked! Luckily, I had paid enough of the balance to have it fully paid off when I traded it for my next car, a 1997 Toyota Tercel. Now that was an awesome little car!

Having and paying for your first car is an awesome thing. I was 40 something before I had my first care that I paid for!!
Sounds like what a lot of us go through! But it is so cool to own your own vehicle. My oldest is looking for an apt and he lives in a different state, so it's not as easy to guide him, although I try my best. Uggh!
what a fun description of your first car
It is interesting what you learn from owning your first car.
Glad that you got a more reliable one later on!
You seem to always do awesome! Very very cool!

Glad you got a better one to replace it!
